The policies, procedures and rules listed here are generally applicable to employees of the State.
Many State agencies and/or programs have policies and/or directives that expressly apply only to the employees within that agency or program given the nature of the work performed and requirements necessary to conduct that business. In many cases, you will be provided those policies and/or directives by the program manager. We encourage employees to ask their supervisor about any such policies/directives.
All state departments or agencies with twenty (20) or more employees are required to prepare Affirmative Action Plans according to the standards established by the Equal Opportunity Office within the Office of Diversity, Equity & Opportunity and in accordance with the provisions set forth in RIGL § 28-5.1. All agencies, regardless of the number of employees, must have an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Policy Statement. For copies of an agency affirmative action plan, contact the Equal Opportunity Office.
